KSO suspends ban

Imphal, January 14 2016:
KSO (Jiribam and Tameng-long) has temporarily suspended its ban on all National projects and railway related works for 10 days with effect from6.30pm today.
Notably, the students' body had announced the ban which is effective from the midnight of January 12 to January 17 midnight against non-clearance of compensation to the land owners affected by laying of railway track.
The decision for temporary suspension of the ban was taken after a meeting between KSO representatives and Jiribam Additional SP Hopson Sapam held today, said KSO (Jiribam, Tamenglong) general secretary J Thangboy Haokip.
The Additional SP assured the student representatives that he would request the Railway authority to clear the compensation amounts within 10 days, he said.
The general secretary said that more intense agitations would be launched if the assurance is not translated into action within the said time.
