KNF cadre 'involved' in assassination of 2 KRA men held

Imphal, June 11 2017:
A public relations officer of Kuki National Front (KNF) suspected to be involved in the killing of two Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA) cadres on May 5 last has been arrested by a combined team of Imphal West and Imphal East commando in the wee hours today.
This was claimed by DGP LM Khaute during a media briefing held at his office chamber today.
The arrested KNF PRO has been identified as Letkhoson @ Soson (42) s/o Seipao of Sapermeina village under Gamnom Sapermeina police station.
The DGP elaborated that on receipt of specific information about the presence of some Kuki underground cadres involved in criminal activities in Sapermeina village, Kangpokpi district, a combined team of Imphal West and Imphal East commando led by OC A Achouba Meetei and OC B Lunthang Vaiphei under the supervision of Addl SP (Operation) I/W S Ibomcha rushed to the village and cordoned it at midnight.

He said that the combined police team conducted a search operation at the village leading to the arrest of the KNF PRO from his residence along with a .22 pistol, six live rounds and two mobile phones.
He informed that a case has been registered in the police station concerned and investigation is on to confirm whether Letkhoson is involved in criminal cases including killing of two KRA cadres on May 5 at N Boljang village under Sapermeina police station.
The DGP also claimed that Imphal West commando on June 8 arrested proprietor of H&B Enterprises located at Lairikyengbam Leikai for his involvement in money transaction for KCP (Progressive) organisation.
He is identified as Thoudam Hemchandra @ Itomba (40) s/o Aber of Lairikyengbam Leikai.
Incriminating articles along with a computer and a dongle were seized from his possession.
A case has been registered at Lamphel police station and investigation is on, the DGP added.
