Residents recovered and exhumed two bullet ridden bodies from a roadside along the periphery of Loktak lake at Nachou Khundon area around four kms south-east of Bishnupur police station yesterday evening.
Police said that the recovery was made by the locals after they noticed a foul smell in the area and cows tried to dig up the two spots located in between 80 feet�s distance.
The two spots were found covered with ashes, according to the police.
The police was informed of the recovery this morning.
The bodies have been kept at the RIMS morgue for identification.
One of the victims is around 5.2 ft tall and has dark complexion.
He could be around 22 years old.
He grew a beard, had a blue colour full shirt and a black corduroy pants.
The other is also of the same height and complexion but is of around 40 years of age.
He had stripped white terry cotton shirt and terry wool pant.
Both of them were shot at heir foreheads.
Police suspect that the two persons were buried there after killing in another area.
Meanwhile, police have identified the body fished out from the Imphal river at Khongngang Pheisabi under Sugnu police station on September 5.The deceased is identified as Wangkhem Ranbir (23) of Saiton Awang Leikai.
He is a student of TDC II year in Imphal College.
He has been missing from his rented house near Kwakeithel out post in Imphal since April this year, sources said.
