Imphal, September 06 2011:
BJP National spokesperson and election in-charge of Manipur Prakash Javekar is scheduled to arrive here on September 9 on a two day visit to take a first hand account of the initiatives being taken up for the formation of an alliance with other political parties with exception to Congress and CPI to fight in the upcoming election to the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly.
Announcing this to mediapersons today, president of BJP State unit Sh Shantikumar informed that the BJP would leave nothing to chance for the formation of such a political alliance so that the present Congress led coalition Govt does not return to power in Manipur after the election to the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly.
BJP National spokesperson and election in-charge of Manipur Prakash Javekar is coming to Imphal not just to monitor the preparation being made for the election but also to start taking up necessary steps for the formation of an alliance with other like-minded political parties to fight in the election, Shantikumar disclosed.
In connection with formation of an alliance, BJP has already started contacting other political parties through telephone and most of them have given positive response.
However, the formal measures for the formation of the alliance would start after the arrival of Prakash Javekar, Shantikumar said.
While at Imphal, Prakash Javekar would also hold thorough discussion on the issues to be included in the election manifesto of the party and other necessary measures to be taken up for defeating the Congress and its ally in the election, Shantikumar informed.
Observing that the position of Congress party in India today is shaky and it is even worst in Manipur, Shantikumar asserted a drubbing defeat to the Congress party in the upcoming State Assembly election has already been foretold in the last by-election to Konthoujam Assembly Constituency.
As part of the preparation for the election, a three-day long political conference for the Mahila Morcha of the party would also begin from August 10, Shantikumar added.
