Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the demise of Marwah, recalling his "unwavering courage" which stood out during his career.
"Shri Ved Marwah Ji will be remembered for his rich contributions to public life.
His unwavering courage always stood out during his career as an IPS officer," Modi tweeted.
Marwah was also a well-respected public intellectual, the Prime Minister said.
"Pained by his demise.
Condolences to his family and admirers.
Om Shanti," the Prime Minister said.
Marwah was an upright officer known for his integrity and competence, the Vice President said.
"My condolences to the bereaved family members.
May his soul rest in peace," the Vice President's Secretariat tweeted.
Governor, Dr Najma Heptulla and Speaker, Y Khemchand have conveyed condolences on the demise of the former Governor.
In her condolence message, Dr Najma stated that Ved Marwah was a firm and straightforward seasoned civil and police administrator who had a soft corner for the State.
His demise is an irreparable loss to the country in general and the State of Manipur in particular, she said.
Chief Minister, Nongthombam Biren Singh too extended condolences on the demise of the former IPS officer and Governor of Manipur.
"As a Governor of Manipur, his love for the people and contribution to the overall development of the State is still remembered.
The void created by his demise would be difficult to fill," said N Biren in his condolence message.
"On behalf of my Government, I convey my deepest condolence and share grief with the bereaved family," the CM continued while praying for the departed soul to rest in peace.
Speaker Y Khemchand, in a statement, acknowledged that the contributions of the former IPS officer towards maintaining social security was a noteworthy one.
"I deeply condole his sudden demise and share the grief of his bereaved family members.
May his soul rest in peace," it added.
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee president, Moirangthem Okendro also said that it was really saddening to learn about the demise of the former Governor.
"He was a great and visionary administrator and showed excellent leadership in the governance of Manipur during President's Rule in Manipur from June 2, 2001 to March 6, 2002 and took several measures for development of the State", said Okendro in a statement while praying for his soul to rest in peace.
