MHRC submits first ever annual report to Govt

Imphal, September 04 2021:
The first ever annual report 2020-21 of Manipur Human Rights Commission (MHRC), since its establishment in 1998, has been submitted to the State Government.
Acting Chairperson of MHRC Khaidem Mani handed over a copy of the report to Chief Minister N Biren Singh in the presence of Education Minister S Rajen Singh and Law & Legislative Affairs Minister Th Satyabrata on September 3 last.

The office of the Manipur Human Rights Commission has already submitted the annual report to the State Government on August 12 last, to be laid before the State Legislative Assembly as mandated under Section 28 of the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993 .
The annual report is a compilation of various activities undertaken by the Manipur Human Rights Commission since its reconstitution by the present State Government.
It also contains observations and recommendations of the Commission, in addition to the organizational and functional role of Manipur Human Rights Commission.
