"Then, in 1997, the Government of India signed a cease fire agreement with a revolutionary group and in the aftermath, the people of Manipur and various other CSOs spearheaded by AMUCO organised a rally and public meeting at Imphal participated by more than 5 lakh individuals, on August 4, that same year, to protest against any action to harm the territorial integrity of Manipur as a result of the agreement.
