Imphal, January 04 2017:
BJP Manipur Pradesh president K Bhabananda has stated that Manipur remains quite backward as compared to other States of India due to the Congress Government's protracted misgovernance and administrative failures.
He was speaking at the Good Governance Week observed today in commemoration of the 92nd birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the Thangmeiband Kangjabi Leirak residence of ex-MLA M Bhorot.
Notably, M Bhorot has been preparing to contest the forthcoming State Assembly election on a BJP ticket in Thangmeiband AC.
Speaking at the gathering organised by BJP Thangmeiband Mandal, Bhabananda said that good governance requires leaders who are sincere and dedicated to public causes.
People have been suffering a lot because the incumbent Government is not sincere enough.
Unlike in the past when Ministers and MLAs went to Delhi and lobby with Central Ministries, Central Ministers were sent to different States since Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of the country in order to ensure that different development programmes taken up by the Government reach the people and there is good governance in every State.
Congress MLAs showed that they have already surrendered before the election by flying to Delhi with the apprehension about possible imposition of President's Rule in the State, Bhabananda remarked.
Their (Congress Government) failure to take up any action to get the ongoing economic blockade lifted implies that they share little sympathy with the plight of public.
Even though BJP has a lone MLA, Congress is afraid of the party which only foretells their impending defeat in the forthcoming election, he claimed.
Even though the State Government was aware about the impending economic blockade, they went ahead with their decision to create seven new districts.
He went to ask why did not the State Government create the new districts earlier if they were determined to do so.
The creation of new districts was driven by the consideration for electoral gains.
He then called upon all BJP workers to work collectively so as to defeat Congress party.
