Concerned over the situation in Manipur in the wake of violent protests against custodial killing of a woman, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi tonight held discussions with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the issue.
The discussions came after several rounds of parleys held by the Prime Minister with leaders of supporting parties as also the leader of Opposition LK Advani.
Home Minister Shivraj Patil and Manipur Chief Minister Ibobi Singh were also present during the meeting Gandhi had with the Prime Minister.
The discussions between Gandhi and the Prime Minister came a day after a meeting of CCPA had asked the home ministry to take appropriate decision in the backdrop of the ongoing agitation in Manipur demanding withdrawal of the Armed forces Special Powers Act.
