Unknown miscreants carried out a bomb attack at the office of Chief Medical Officer of District Health Society last night at around 9 but no group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
Reportedly not a single person was in the office premises when the bomb suspected to be IED went off.
According to reports culled from the spot, people residing near the office of the CMO came to know of the explosion only this morning as they first suspected that the loud noise might be from bursting of vehicle tyre.
The splinters of the bomb caused damages to the offices of the District Immunization Officer and the District Malaria Officer, Senapati.

The locals said that the miscreants might have hurled the bomb inside the office after breaking the window glasses.
Briefing media persons, Senapati CMO Dr Pfokreho Pfoze said that carrying out such an attack will only bring chaos to the society.
"If any person or group is not happy with the functioning of the District Health Society, then they must come forward to work out a solution," the CMO said and added that there were no instances of any group serving monetary demand to them nor there were any disputes among the staff.
The Naga People's Organization (NPO) and Senapati District Women Association (SDWA), in separate statements, have condemned the attack.
"Whoever carried out the attack at such an important institution is a threat to the society," NPO said and urged the State Government to bring the culprits to book at the earliest.
The SDSA also urged the group or individuals who carried out the attack to come forward and claim responsibility.
The Karong Senapati Town Committee (KSTC) also condemned the attack .
Reportedly, a JAC has been formed against the bomb explosion at the Medical Department office, Senapati.
