Ukhrul ADC, CNPO condemn

The Chairman and colleagues of ADC Ukhrul have vehemently condemned all the incidents of molesting and assaulting of a film actress and her two colleagues as well as the subsequent killing of a journalist in police firing while on duty.
The act of looting, assaulting and attempt to rape a minor girl of Risomhung village at Napetpalli and the brutal killing of two hunters of Kongkan village under Kamjong sub-division, Ukhrul, are equally condemnable said the ADC Chairman John Raleng in a statement issued to the press today.
All those accused in these criminal activities should be awarded befitting punishment.
The ADC Chairman also wished the people of the State a peaceful and prosperous New Year.
Meanwhile, Chandel Naga People's Organisation (CNPO) has strongly condemned the Kongkan incident where two villagers were killed by UNLF cadres on December 28 .
Conveying its solidarity to the bereaved families, CNPO demanded that the particular incident should be investigated thoroughly and perpetrators should be booked as per the law of the land at the earliest.
It also condemned the Napet Palli 'rape attempt' as well as the killing of journalist of Thangjam Dwijamani in police firing.
"In view of the recent developments in the State and the Government's failure to tackle the situations present and past, we hold the State Government responsible", said a press release issued by CNPO.
