One day Awareness camp on TB treatment held

Tamenglong, August 30 2011:
The Indigenous Women and Children Foundation, IWCF Tamenglong today organized a one day awareness camp on tuberculosis treatment at Inrianglong Baptist Church Youth Hall with Hannah Kamei, SDO Tamei as chief guest.
The programme was sponsored by Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme, Tamenglong.
Speaking as chief gust Hannah Kamei said that earlier people assumed that TB is not curable and regarded it as a dreadful disease and the infected person was not allowed to leave his house.
But now TB is completely curable.
She said such a programme is very important.
Athana Pamei, Secretary IWCF observed that there are many patients with TB but they remained undiagnosed due to lack of knowledge arising from illiteracy.
Rajenglung, Manglemba and Namthiuliu from TB Department were the main resource persons.
Medicines were also distributed to the participants.
