A group members of Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council (ADC), Kangpokpi led by its Vice-Chairman, Paojalet Touthanga has threatened to file a no confidence motion against Chairman Haokholal Hangsit for his alleged authoritarian style of working.
Addressing a press meet in this regard at the residence of Bonthaolung Panmei, Executive Member of Sadar Hills ADC, spokesperson Roingam Thanga said that election of ADC was held few years back after a span of 20 years to bring about development in hill regions but Haokhalal Hangshing has failed to take up development works for people of Sadar Hills.
He stated that the Chairman did not consult any of the 25 Members including government nominees of Sadar Hills ADC whenever an important decision is to be taken and alleged that the Chairman also withdrew certain amount of money and used it on his own way without consulting the Executive Members.
Perturbed by the authoritarian style of working of the Chairman, 14 Executive Members including the Vice-Chairman Paojalet Touthang has been demanding removal of the incumbent Chairman, he said.
Informing that a memorandum had already been submitted to Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam and Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) urging to remove the Chairman who lacks leadership quality, he warned of filing a no confidence motion against the Chairman if he is removed from the post at the earliest.
