Meditation training programme

Imphal, October 20 2018:
"40-hours Mediation Training Programme" for Advocates which started from October 16 has concluded today at the Auditorium, High Court of Manipur.
The training programme was organised by Manipur State Legal Services Authority in association with Mediation Monitoring Committee, High Court of Manipur under the guidelines of Mediation & Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC), Supreme Court of India.
The programme was participated by 22 Advocates from different districts of Manipur.
Four trainers from Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, one observer from New Delhi were deputed by MCPC, Supreme Court of India for conducting the training programme.
It may be mentioned that this was the first time in Manipur in which Advocates were imparted mediation training.
The Advocates who have successfully completed the training programme will become trained mediators and they will conduct mediation between the disputing parties for disposal of cases by way of negotiation and amicable settlement which will help in reduction of pendency of cases in Courts, said a statement of RK Memcha Devi, ic Member Secretary Manipur State Legal Services Authority today.
