CSO leaders appeal for calm, sanity

Imphal, March 19 2013:
In view of the tense situation prevailing following the death a driver, leaders of various Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) have appealed to all the people not to spread hate speech that might aggravate the already charged situation.
While contacting, President of Pangal Students' Organisation, Burahan Uddin told Hueiyen Lanpao that if any communal or untoward incidents broke out, state government should be responsible for it.
So, government should find out the culprit and give befitting punishment.
Secretary of National Identity Protection Committee, Rishi Manga appealed all to stay calm and avoid speaking anything that could incite communal tension.
He also urged the state government to take appropriate measures to prevention any communal riot.
Secretary of All Manipur United Clubs' Organization (AMUCO), N C Madhuchandra also appealed against spreading rumours.
AMUCO would fight and stand against such communal violence, he added.
