Sadar Hills Congress holds reformation meet

Kangpokpi, October 17 2021:
District Congress Committee, Sadar Hills, Kangpokpi conducted a party reformation meet at Blossom Home, Motbung on Sunday.
The meeting was held in the presence of MPCC general secretary in-charge of Sadar Hills Sokho George, MPCC general secretary N Kipgen, AIMCC general secretary in -charge for North-East Kim Haokip and MPYCC vice-president Thangminlen Kipgen.
In his address, Sokho George drew attention of executives of the district, blocks, Mahila Congress, Youth Congress of Sadar Hills and workers, supporters, and the general public of the district for taking extra caution from communal and religious agenda of the BJP led governments at the Centre and in the state.
He exhorted all party leaders, workers and general public to bring back the grand old Congress party in the state in the 2022 assembly election for ensuring peace, harmony, and people-oriented development.
Dr Lamtinthang Haokip, co-opted MPCC member 51-Saitu A/C, also spoke about the change that people of Saitu A/C and Kangpokpi district at large need for a better society while stressing the importance of people's participation in the election to defeat communal agenda of N Biren led BJP government in the state.
In the event of BJP retaining power in the coming election, common people of the state will have to brace for facing not just the rise of communalism but also threat to the democratic values of secularism, freedom of speech, diversity and integrity of the state.
He also assured that Congress will come back to serve the people of the state in 2022 .
The meeting also unanimously reformed and inducted new executives in Sadar Hills District Congress Committee which will be announced after taking due consent from the competent authority.
Indian Youth Congress membership drive was also launched at the meeting led by MPYCC vice president Thangminlen Kipgen and DCC Sadar Hills, Kangpokpi president Zilkhothang Touthang.
Meanwhile, AIMCC general secretary Kim Haokip along with District Mahila Congress Committee Neinu Kipgen launched Mahila Congress Logo along with Sokho George and Zilkhothang Touthang.
Sokho and Kim Haokip stressed the need, role, and contribution of women in building any society, equal contribution in politics, state, and the nation.
