State logs 330 new positive cases, 14 fatalities
New cases fall below 400 after 10 days: tally crosses 40K mark: fatality rate remains high

Daily new infection cases dropped below the 400-mark for the first time after 10 days in the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic as government bulletins reported 330 new cases and 14 deaths on Monday.
However, daily fatality counts remain high as the last 10 days reported 10 or more death cases every day.
Active caseload as of Monday is 6338 out of which 4112 are in home isolation and the remaining 2226 are undergoing treatment in healthcare facilities.
So far, 11,871 cases and 237 fatalities have been reported since the beginning of the current year ofwhich 8473 cases and 187 fatalities were reported during the current month.
The last seven days reported 4281 cases and 103 fatalities.
According to official reports, the 330 new cases included 327 people (179 males & 148 females) from among the general population and 3 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
Their samples were tested at RIMS (20), Imphal West (6), Maipakpi (6), CMC (5), Lamjingba (1), Sielmat (1), Little Clinic (1), Raj Medicity (34), Ema Hospital (6), Advanced Hospital (1), Asian Hospital (2), Jivan Hospital (13), Shija Hospitals (16), Babina Diagnostics (81), Escent Diagnostics (56), Thoubal (17), Bishnupur (25), Kakching (2), Churachandpur (7), Chandel (3), Senapati (6), Tamenglong (8), Ukhrul (7), Noney (l) and Jiribam (5).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (85), Imphal West (127), Thoubal (28), Bishnupur (30), Kakching (21), Ukhrul (7), Churachandpur (8), Chandel (3), Senapati (7), Tamenglong (6), Kamjong (l), Noney (3) and Jiribam (1).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The 14 fatalities reported on Monday included a 65-year old male (IW), a 56-year old male (IE), an 82-year old male (IW), a 60-year old female (IE), a 42-year old male (IW), a 74-year old male (IW), a 70-year old male (IW), a 76-year old female (IW), a 63-year old female (IW), a 63-year old female (IW), a 47-year old male (IW), a 66-year old male (IE), a 91-year old male (IE) and a 70-year old male (IE) who died at Shija (3), RIMS (7) and JNIMS (4) hospitals respectively.
The cumulative number of deaths is 592.In the last 24 hours, 455 patients were discharged from CAPF (7), home isolation (322), RIMS (23), JNIMS (3), RD Wing (6), BB (11), NSU (24), SHRI (20), Babina Speciality Hospital (6), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (10), Jivan Hospital (7), Bishnupur (14), Tamenglong (1) and Senapati (1).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 40,059 (general population - 36,354 and CAPF personnel - 3,705).Number of recovered cases is 33,129 (general population - 29,600 and CAPF personnel - 3,529) and number of active cases is 6338 (general population - 6167 and CAPF personnel - 171).The recovery rate is 82.70 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1488 D type Oxygen Cylinders and 502 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities in the state.
So far, the state health authority has vaccinated 3,09,896 individuals till Sunday.
CCR report informed air passengers, who travelled to the state on May 14 by Air India AI-715 in rows 8-14 to report to the Common Covid Control Room 1800-345-3818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO) for further surveillance and necessary testing.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (14052), Imphal East (9273), Thoubal (3053), Churachandpur (2727), Kangpok-pi (1349), Tamenglong (1643), Bishnupur (2083), Senapati (920), Ukhrul (940), Kakching (1547), Chandel (778), Noney (479), Tengnoupal (458), Jiribam (386), Kamjong (334), and Pherzawl(37).Fatalities counts in different districts are Imphal West (223), Imphal East (148), Thoubal (65), Churachandpur (47), Kangpokpi (17), Tamenglong (7), Bishnupur (38), Senapati (3), Ukhrul (6), Kakching (19), Chandel (121, Noney (1), Tengnoupal (3), Jiribam (1), Kamjong (2) and Pherzawl (0).However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.
The state health authority is not willing to provide district-specific case status despite repeated request from media.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 12,910 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 18,882 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 2,12,869 tests per million population against the national average ot2,27,344 TPM.
Case fatality rate rose to 1.48 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 2548 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 12.955 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate further rises to 6.04 per cent.
