Imphal, September 14 2021:
CPI (M), Manipur State Council secretary Ksh Shanta has revealed that the party has adopted a resolution to forge alliances with like-minded political parties to defeat BJP in the upcoming Manipur Legislative Assembly, 2022 .
Speaking to newspersons, Shanta informed that a meeting of CPI (M), Manipur State Council was convened on Tuesday wherein discussions were held with regard to the upcoming polls.
A resolution was also adopted to defeat the ruling BJP government in the upcoming polls, he added.
Recalling the defeat of BJP and its NDA partners in the recent Legislative Assembly elections in 5 states, including Kerala, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal; Shanta said that BJP suffered defeat due to its anti-people stance.
The people no longer trust the PM Modi-led government which has centralized power from states and due to implementation of discriminatory policies, anti-farmer and labour laws, violation of civil and human rights, and lastly, the apathy shown during the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Even now, the central government is continuing to commit wrongs, including usage of Pegasus spyware to snoop on political leaders, journalists, businessmen and opposition leaders.
In addition, it has been misusing the funds while purchasing defence products.
In this regard, the BJP-led NDA government has suffered many losses.
This can be attributed to the movement launched by left parties in association with other secular and democratic forces," he contended.
Informing that CPI (M) has adopted a resolution to overthrow BJP from not only in Kerala but also from other states, including ensuring the latter's defeat in the upcoming polls jn Manipur; Shanta said that responsibility on this matter has been handed over to the state secretariat of the party.
