Stage set for Lui-Ngai-Ni

Imphal, February 12 2013:
The stage has been set for the celebration of Lui-ngai-ni, the Seed Sowing Festival of the Nagas on 15th February 2013 under the theme of "Weaving Peace through Culture" at Maha Union Ground, Chandel with Chandel Naga Peoples Organisation (CNPO) as host organisation.
The grand festival will be graced by L.Dikho, MLA of 48-Mao A/C as Guest of Honour.
The main celebration will be preceded by Welcome Session on the eve of Lui-Ngai-Ni with ST.
Victor Nunghlung, MLA of 41-Chandel A/C as Chief Host.
Besides, delegates of 16 Naga tribes from across the state and invitees from different corners will converge to showcase and witness the rich Naga culture.
The main attractions of the festival would include traditional Naga rituals (lighting of sacred fire, blowing of horns and blessing of seeds), cultural mosaic, traditional fashion parade, musical interlude by Naga artistes, indigenous games and Naga delicacies.
The events will start from 9:30 AM onwards.
The Organising Committee has invited all to witness and share the joyous moments of Lui-NgaiNni that comes once in a year.
