MEELAL resolves for stringent measures from next year

The Meetei Erol Eyek Loinasillol Apunba Lup (MEELAL) has resolved to start more serious and stringent campaign towards preserving Manipuri language and script from the beginning of 2015.This has been stated by NC Meirikhomba, Secretary Publicity, MEELAL, Kangleipak in a press statement.
MEELAL has appealed to all concerned to use only local language during performance of rituals and ceremonies.
It also reminded that vehicles including those of the Govt should have number plates printed in Meetei Mayek.
Continuing its appeal to the people to avoid alien languages in the Shumang Kummei, Phambak Kummei and Mami Kummei, MEELAL said no awards should be given to writers and authors whose books have mixed language.
BoSEM has also been urged not to publish textbooks with mixed language for the academic session beginning 2016 .
