Moreh, August 06 2020:
The imposition of total lockdown from July 23 last has resulted in a shortage of food items in Moreh town.
As Moreh populace depend mainly on foods and vegetables brought in from Imphal for sustenance, this preventive measure has greatly disrupted food supply chains.
It may be mentioned that personnel of Manipur police and Manipur Rifles have been detaining those who venture out without any purpose since the first day of total lockdown to check the spread of novel coronavirus.
And even though the State Government had informed shopkeepers and wholesalers not to hike the price of essential commodities, some shops in the border town continue to sell their goods at an exorbitant rate.
