M Dili Dominic, longest serving NPO president dies at 69

M Dili Dominic, a renowned visionary Senapati District Naga socio-political leader and longest serving Naga People Organisation president passed away at the age of 69 years at his home, Mao Karong today at 9 am after brief illness.
He was second son of Lt Kaisii Mathibo, born on June 17, 1949 at Punanamei Village.
In the year 1977 he got married to Lt Athishu Kholia.
He was blessed with 6 children and survived by four children.
His last hours were spend surrounded by family and friends.
He attended his early schooling at Don Bosco School, Imphal and received merit scholarship from 1968-69 .
He matriculated in 1970 from Mao Maram Higher Sec School, Tadubi and graduated from DM College Imphal in the year 1975 .
He began his journey as a socio-political activist when he became the Chairman of Manipur North District Naga Students' Association (MNDNSA) in 1975 for the tenure 1975-76 and as Town Commissioner, Senapati 1975 .
He was elected as a Member of District Council, Manipur North District � 1977-1982 .
He served as president for Manipur North District Naga Sports' Association from 1982 to1987 and was also nominated to Manipur North ADC � 1982-1987 .
After a gap of three years, Lt Dili became the president of Karong Union Development Committee in 1990 till 1995 .
From 1996-1997, he served as the vice president of UNC.
He served as the president of Naga People Organisation for five tenure � 1994-95, 1996-1997, 2001-2003, 2004-2006 and 2009-2011 .
From 2016-2017 he was the president of Mao Council.
He was also the president of Tenyimi People's Organisation(South Naga) .
Meanwhile, the NPO is inviting all the well wishers to attend a public condolence service at 10am of May 7 at Mini Stadium, Senapati.
