Why live bullets for CCpur, ask Saikul CSOs

Strongly denouncing the use of live bullets on the tribal protesters in Churachandpur district leading to the death of eight youths, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) of Saikul Gamkai on Friday demanded the Manipur Government to treat all communities equally during a sit-in protest held at Saikul bazaar.
The sit-in protest was jointly organized by Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkai, Kuki Women Union and Kuki Students' Organization.
Around 400 people from various parts of Saikul area took part in the protest which also condemned the three alleged 'anti-tribal Bills' passed in the State Assembly.
Speaking to media persons Phalchong, advisor KWU Saikul Gamkai said that the three Bills are inharmonious in nature and detrimental to the interest of the tribals and added that the JCILPS and the State Government never tried to consult the Hill Areas Committee and the tribal peoples before the passing of the Bills.
The majority community of the State and the Manipur Government are solely responsible for the untoward episode happened during the tribal protests against the passing of the three Bills, said Phalchong Mangte.
The women leader also wondered on the use of rubber bullets and tear gas shells during the ILPS agitations in the valley areas while live bullets for Churachandpur district.
The atrocities of the State Force clearly shows how communal the Manipur Government is, said Phalchong before adding that President Rule must be imposed in the State at the earliest.
