Imphal, August 05 2013:
Furious over apathy of State Government towards infrastructure development of the college, students of DM College of Commerce have also demolished the unusable toilets of the college today.
The toilets remained unusable for more than two years despite complaints and reminders served to the authorities concerned.
Foul smells from the toilets have been causing trouble to students during classes.
Addressing media persons in this regard today, General College of DM College of Commerce Ngasepam Shaphaba said that students have made several complaints to the authorities concerned for repairing of the toilets, but nothing has been done so far.
Moreover, there is no water in the toilets and they have to run to the hostel or nearby houses to answer the call of nature.
He further said that Education Minister Okendro had visited the college and assured of improving the infrastructures.
However, his words have vanished in the thin air.
Saphaba also warned of serious agitations if the deplorable condition of the college is not improved within a short period.
It may be mentioned that the students of DM College of Science had earlier destroyed the toilet complex of the college.
