Agitation called off

The Resident Doctors Association of RIMS decided to call off their agitation and start resuming normal casualty services from 4 pm yesterday.
A press release issued by Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital Imphal stated that the casualty services of RIMS hospital was closed as a consequence of the alleged assault of the doctors working in the casualty department of the hospital.
The decision to call off the stir followed the arrest of one of the culprits and redressal of the demands submitted by RIMS Residential Doctors Association, added the statement.
RIMS authority and Resident Doctors Association expressed regret for causing inconveniences to the patients.
It further stated that any act of violence or abuse of RIMS doctors in the future could lead to attracting the Provisions of the Manipur Medicare Service Personnel and Medicare Service Institutions (Prevention of Violence and Damage to Property) Act 2015 (Manipur Act No 3 of 2016) .
