AR organises Christmas celebrations

Tulihal Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(S) organised Christmas Celebrations and gift distribution ceremony at Namthanglong Baptist Church, Uchiwa.
The troops of Mayang Imphal Company Operating Base extended warm Christmas greetings to the locals and children and celebrated the most fondly festival of the Christian community and the birth of Lord Jesus Christ with great zeal and enthusiasm.
The villagers welcomed the troops with open arms, Christmas carols were sung and prayers for peace and harmony in Manipur were done by the children of the Village.
A gift distribution ceremony for children and villagers was conducted followed by tea and refreshments.
The endeavour the Battalion to reach out the villagers with gifts on the eve of Christmas was appreciated by all and the villagers vowed, their contribution to work hand in hand with the Assam Rifles for maintaining peace and harmony in the region.
Meanwhile, with an aim to bring smiles and happiness among the local populace, Pangaltabi Company of Kakching Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR(South) organised a one day Christmas fest for children of Pangaltabi area.
67 kids from different villages witnessed the Christmas fest.
The fest started with tea and snacks for all the children followed by number of games such as musical chair, Jalebi race and football skills.
Later, volunteer dance performances were also held as part of the celebration.
The fest concluded with a lunch and distribution of gifts for all the kids.
