Jiribam, September 24 2011:
While condemning the act of the state government and its nature of handling the issue of Jiribam, the JDDC has called for a 60 hours general strike from 6 pm of September 26 till 6 am of September 29 .
Maipaksana, Convenor of JDDC in a press release emailed to Hueiyen Lanpao stated that the general strike is being called by the JDDC as the situation demands it.
He said that the government is trying to sideline the issue of a full-fledged Jiribam district by promising to grant their demand but not giving an exact date.
While appealing to the people of the state especially those residing in Jiribam area, he stated that JDDC will face any action which might cause disturbance in the proposed general strike.
Any untoward incidents arising out of the general strike will be the sole responsibility for the government, he added.
