No Dengue case in Moreh: Project Director, NHM

In the wake of public scare over spread of Dengue disease in Moreh town along Indo-Myanmar border, blood samples of patients who were believed to be suffering from the disease were collected to confirm about the disease.
However, after the blood test, it was confirmed that they were not suffering from Dengue.
Now, people of Moreh need not be apprehensive, Okram Ibomcha, Project Director of National Health Mission, who is also the Director of Health & Family Welfare, has stated.
Addressing a press meet at the office of State Health & Family Welfare here, O Ibomcha said that health experts of the department investigated into the matter following reports published in local dailies about the high possibility of Dengue spreading in Moreh town and 42 blood samples were collected from suspected patients for testing but the test has confirmed that no one was suffering from Dengue.
He further informed that another 16 blood samples collected from other districts have already been sent to laboratories outside the State for testing as a measure to check any possibl spread of the disease in any part of Manipur.
Results of the test will be known soon.
However, as of now, there is no need to panic about the spread of Dengue and Japanese Encephalitis in the State, he added.
