PNB, DC's security barrack sealed

Ukhrul, June 23 2021:
The entire building of Punjab National Bank and the security barrack of Ukhrul DC's bungalow have been sealed along with eight private residences in the town after 29 people tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday.
Reports from the district surveillance office said that eight samples from the DC bungalow's security barrack, Tangrei and four from PNB branch, Viewland returned positive during contact tracing.
It said that 10 samples out of 38 collected at Town Hall Screening Centre came out positive, while two positive cases were detected from among 119 samples collected during mass screening at Mayotang locality.
One positive case each was found from Ukhrul District Hospital and Wino Tang locality on contact tracing, it said.
With the latest detection, the tally of active cases has climbed to 154, even as 17 patients were discharged after retest on Wednesday.
Among those active cases, 88 patients are currently lodged at ITI Community Isolation Centre, 26 at UHSS CIC, 23 at Transit Camp, 13 at UDH Isolation Ward, three at Jessami CIC and one at Litan CIC.
The district has reported 21 fatalities due to the disease, while 16 patients have been referred out of the district so far.
