Villagers fix deadline

The villagers of Makhuam (Marangching) village has fixed a 48 hour deadline for the authority concerned to bring back the land compensation money which were wrongfully awarded by Tamenglong DC .
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, Makhuam village Thoubei secretary Guangchalung Gangmei condemned the Tamenglong DC for taking out and giving away the land compensation money in connection with the construction of railway project at Marangching.
He pointed out that the construction of the Marangching railway project land compensation is still an unresolved issue and a Court case is still on to settle the dispute.
He alleged the Tamenglong DC of bypassing the pending Court case and handing out around Rs 36 crore of the land compensation money, and threatened to boycott all works related to the construction of the railway at Marangching if the authority concerned fail to bring back the amount.
