Mass nationalism and spiritual campaign

In a bid to instil the sense of nationalism and spiritualism among the youths of the State, Khwai Nungseng Sinthalup (KNSI) will be organising a mass campaign on nationalism and spiritualism in schools and colleges across the State from tomorrow .
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, KNSI general secretary T Leishemba Meitei said that the prevailing situation in the State is the main reason for KNSI to come up with such campaign .
He said that the proposed campaign aims at fostering peace, tranquility, sense of oneness and nationalism among the different communities of the State.
He informed that the campaign will cover students of Class IX up to undergraduate .
Stressing on the need to promote unity in the State, Leishemba said that every Sunday KNSI visits different villages in the State to spread the message .
He further said that the organisation is building "Lairamlen" at Khongjom where people from different walks of life could converge on every Thursday .
Village chief of Kasum Khullen has agreed to the proposal of KNSI to build a Lairamlen at the village, he said .
The organisation is also trying to build another "Lairamlen" at Nungei, he said, adding that denizens of Nungei have given consent to the proposal .
He appealed to the civil society organisations, NGOs and State Government to help the organisation in its efforts to promote peace and tranquility in the society.
The campaign will end on April 22 of next year.
The organisation is also planning to organise an essay competition on the eve of Khongjom Day on April 23, he added.
