Govt intends to empanel educational institutions

The Government of Manipur intends further to Empanel a list of Universities/ Colleges/ Institutions/ Engineering Colleges/ Technical Institutions/ Institutions offering general/ professional courses duly recognized by UGC/ NCTE/ AICTE/ DCI/INC/PCI with full details of courses offered, fee structure, hostel facilities, prospectus of their Universities/ Colleges/ Institutions to enable the state government to ensure that students of Manipur intending to pursue higher studies outside the state are facilitated with required information pertaining to proper recognition/affiliation of the higher educational institutions and keeping in the public domain for the information of the people of the state to apply for admissions in the duly approved institutions only an to nominate adequate number of eligible students of the state as and where applicable.
The Directorate of Higher Education proposes to go for empanelment of higher educational institutions through checking of the credentials and proper verification from UGC/ NCTE/AICTE/DCI/INC/PCI and also conducting inspections of their higher educational institutions by a team of officials from the Department to verify availability of adequate hostel facilities in proper conditions, proper and decent food and lodging arrangement, safety issues for our students in terms of local atmosphere and outlook towards NE students,etc by meeting the concerned authorities to sensitize them of our safety concerns.
Government of Manipur is taking all necessary measures to ensure protection of related interests of our students as was done earlier in 2014 .
Hence concerned authorities of the Indian Universities/ Colleges/ Institutions are hereby requested to furnish detailed information as mentioned above so as to reach the Director of Universities and Higher Education, Government of Manipur within April 10 .
Applications, both in hard and soft copies, with full details of the institutions along with application fee Rs.10,000/- by DD drawn in favour of Director of University and Higher Education, Government of Manipur may be submitted to Director, University and Higher Education Government of Manipur and by e-mail at [email protected] .
The interested higher educational institutions may also be required to bear the travel expenses including boarding and lodging arrangement for inspections of their institutions by the team of Officials from the department will be required for those which were inspected earlier but inspection will be made for those which have not inspected yet including institutions that have already deposited the applications fee of Rs 10,000 in the previous year.
