Sit-in protests continue, flash bandhs disrupt normal life

Supporting the JCILPS led ongoing public demand of implementing ILPS in Manipur, many people, including members from various local clubs, organizations and meira paibis staged sit-in protests at different locations of the valley districts while people at some places faced inconveniences due to a flash bandh.
Teaching, non-teaching staff and students of Central Agricultural University, Iroishemba staged a sit-in protest on Monday at the gate of the university from 10 am till 4 pm.
While expressing his desire to implement the much demanded ILPS in Manipur, a teacher of the varsity said that they will externd continued support to the ongoing demand till the end.

People of Naoremthong Laishram Leirak also supported the agitation by organising sit-ins and blocking the road which leads to Imphal West DC Complex.
Samushang of Imphal Kangchup road, Naoremthong and Uripok roads were also blocked since 1.30 pm.
Road were also obstructed after around 2 pm at Tera bazaar, Sayang Lambi, Sagolband Vijoy Govinda, Sagolband Meino Leirak, Sagolband Moirang Leirak Mapa, Jiri Parking, Keishampat Junction, Keishampat Thouchom Leikai, Keishampat Kangabam Leikai, Singjamei bazaar, Old Thumbuthong bride, Sega Road Thouda Bhabok Leikai, Kumbi Keithel, Wangkhei, Yurembam and Khurai causing disturbance and inconveniences to the commuters.
Many other organizations including Centre for Social Development Organisation, Women Action for Development of Palace Compound also staged a sit-in demanding immediate implementation of ILPS in Manipur.
The protesters also demanded the Govt to reopen all educational institutes soon.
Many people at Old Thumbuthong bridge in Imphal East also came out at around 3 pm and blocked road.
Those who were victimized by the flash bandh appealed to the JCILPS to announce in advance if such bandhs or curfews are to be imposed.
