JAC resolves to shut down Thangjing Chiru Heibilok Water Supply Scheme

Thangjing Chiru Heibilok Water Supply Scheme will be shut down after the month of November this year if the State Govt did not fulfill the demand of Joint Action Committee to appoint one chowkidar and four linemen from the Thangjing Chiru village by the end of November, said a statement issued by Thangjing Chiru Village Authority.
It further alleged that the Thangjing Chiru Water Supply Scheme was built in 1987 on a land donated by the said village with a verbal agreement to appoint one Chowkidar and four Linemen from the village.
However, only one person is appointed as Chowkidar in these many years, it added and maintained that a memorandum was also submitted to the concerned minister regarding the agreement on May 19, 2017 but no action has been taken up so far by the concerned department.
As such, JAC formed in connection with the issue, after due deliberations, resolved to shut down the said water supply scheme if the State Govt did not act on their demands within November, the statement cautioned and sought cooperation from the villagers in their endeavor.
