As part of its intensified agitation for the fulfillment of the demands in the wake of the exposure of the Khwairamband incident, the Working Committee of the Apunba Lup has announced to indefinitely ban the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) in the state.
Pledging to continue its stirs-including the class boycott agitation of AMSU, MSF and KSA -until the demands are achieved, a statement issued by the WCAL has urged all concerned to distance themselves from the MPCC.
The statement informed all concerned not to allow the location of the MPCC office on or near their campus.
It urged the state, district and local levels workers of the Congress to tender resignation and join the movement of the people.
The WCAL statement cautioned that anyone refusing to pay heed to the ban imposed on the MPCC should be taken as 'betrayer' and the individuals concerned will be held responsible for any outcome arising out of it.
Saying that the steps taken by the All Manipur Students Guardians' Association in convening a meeting on October 14 last deserves applause, the statement observed that the efforts of the guardians to take a decisive decision against the fake encounter killings is laudable.
The statement further pointed out that the agitation of the three students' bodies is a show to demonstrate that right to life is more important than right to education.
The Apunba Lup has also condemned the harassment of two reporters on October 10 by the Manipur police Commandos.
The Apunba Lup has also extended solidarity to the sufferings of the media persons.
