Imphal, May 14 2023:
While contending that the conflict was never an ethnic/communal clash but execution of decades long well planned conspiracy, Coordi-nating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) appealed to the people of the state for launching a mass sit-in protest from Monday onwards.
On Sunday, COCOMI con-vened a public meeting at Wangkhei Meihoubam com-munity hall in connection with the prevailing restive situation in the state and adopted various resolutions Speaking after the meeting, COCOMI co-ordinator Jitendra Ningomba informed that reso-lutions adopted include staging of mass sit-in protests across the state from Monday onwards until an amicable solution is reached, usage of slogans like "No political rights to illegal immigrants", "GOI should con-trol Kuki So0 Militants", "Stop attacking villagers by Kuki Mil-itants", "Stop inhumane eco-nomic blockade", "Stop influx of Myanmarese", "Save indige-nous people from immigrants", "Save Manipur forests", "Down with Narco- terrorism", "Down with Separatist Legislature", "Go Back Chin-Kuki Separat-ist Foreigner", "Save Manipur Integrity", "GOI, Don't Play Divisive Policy", "GOI, Don't remain as silent spectator", "No Golden triangle in Manipur", "No Separate Administration at any cost", "Immediate NRC, Need of the Hour", etc.

In his speech, COCOMI media co-ordinator Somorendro Thokchom said that the vio-knee in Manipur was previously regarded as ethnic/communal riots.
However, it is now crystal clear that this was never communal riots but rather execution of a well-planned conspiracy spanning over many years.
A clear cut example of this is the written separate administration demand by the 10 Kuki MLAs to the President and Prime Minister of India.
On top of this, despite the imposition of Article 355 and deployment of paramilitary forces in the state, Kuki militants contin-ue to harass and attack innocent civilians.
Chin-Kuki tribes from Myanmar are joining with Kuki militants and waging war against the state.
This has left the people in a state of panic and fear.
Thus, until the central and state governments solve this issue, Manipur will go up in flames and people in both the hills and valley killed.
The responsibility for the unfolding tragedy shall have to be borne by both the central and state governments, he cautioned.
In his address, COCOMI assistant coor-dinator L Ratan said that the original Kuki brethren of Manipur comprise those who arrived when Manipur first came into being and in the later ages.
They were never outcast or an outsider but part of the united identity of Manipur.
However, if the Kuki brethren were to continue feigning silence over the separatist demand of the 10 Kuki MLAs, this would lead to the assumption that they sup-port those who want to destroy the integrity and unity of the state.
He then wished for the rational Kuki brethren to make their stance on the matter clear.
