Imphal, September 13 2015:
Manipur Home Guard Employees Welfare Association has urged the State Government to pay full-scale salary to Home Guards in line with the salaries received by employees in all States and Union Territories as per an order of Supreme Court.
The association organised a press meet at Manipur Press Club on Sunday.
Association president Y Mangi demanded that the Government should pay full-scale salary to Home Guards corresponding to salaries given to other Government employees.
Their duty is not lower than the duty of other forces like IRB, he said.
The Government should respect the apex court order, he demanded.
Mangi said there are a number of educationally qualified Home Guards and so promotion and regularization of these guards should be effected by the Government.
He demanded that the State Government recognize their share of responsibility in time of bad law and order situation in the State.
Now, Home Guards get Rs 5000 as monthly salary.
