Imphal, February 12 2020:
An extended executive committee meeting of All Manipur College Teachers' Association (AMCTA), held at Oriental College today, reaffirmed its stand to suspend its proposed cease work strike, but warned to resume the cease work strike if the State Government deviates from its promise for implementation of 7th UGC Pay.
A press release issued by general secretary stated that the meeting expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for giving the green light to implementation of 7th UGC Pay and for transforming its promise, which was given to AMCTA on the February 6 mass rally, into action.
It also lauded the Education Minister for putting forth the demands of the teacher community and for progressing the education sector of the State.
It also praised administrative Department Commissioner, Higher Education and Department officers along with Director (Higher Education) as well.
The meeting deliberated on the other demands which were included in its 10 point charter of demands while demanding the State Government to fulfil them in phase wise manner.
