'Mama' bags Best Manipuri Film Script Writer Award

Imphal, October 11 2015:
The 1st foundation day of CINE Writers Guild Manipur, a body of Manipuri film script writers, was observed on Sunday at the auditorium hall of Manipur Film Development Society (MFDS), Palace Compound.
During the function, awards of the 1st Manipuri Film Script Competition 2015 organised by CINE Writers Guild Manipur were distributed.
Shijagurumayum Suchitra's "Mama" bagged the Best Manipuri Film Script Award and the Tongbram Bira Singh and Tongbram Tombi Devi Memorial Award 2015 .
The award carries Rs 30,000 and a citation.
"Mandalay Mathel" of Aribam Sibadas and Moirangthem Ibopishak's "Meragi Thanil" jointly bagged the second best script and the Gurumayum Sakhi Gopal Sharma Memorial Award 2015 .
Both the writers were awarded Rs 20,000 each along with citations.
The Special Jury Award went to Dee Abonmai XL who also bagged the RK Ima Films Production Jury Award 2015.The award carries Rs 4,000 and a citation.
The third prize of the competition was given to Kiran Meikam's "Inga Nong" and the Tokpam ongbi Thambaltongbi Devi Memorial Award 2015.The award carries Rs 10,000 and a citation.
Speaking at the function as chief guest, Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency MP Dr T Meinya said that Manipur despite being a small State has been continuously producing a lot of films and in recognition of the contribution made by the State's artists, India Government is planning to establish a film industry in Manipur.
