Free eye camps held

Shija Eye Care Foundation in collaboration with selfhelp group, Laiphrakpam organised a comprehensive eye camp at Laiphrakpam Makha Leikai Primary School yesterday.
According to a statement, the camp was sponsored by SEVA Foundation and Focusing Philanthropy.
SECF also organised similar camp today in collaboration with Maibam Youth Club cum Library at the club's premises.
The camp at Laiphrakpam Makha Leikai Primary School was inaugurated by S Achouba Singh, VP, MPCC and VC, K&VTB.
A total of 129 patients were examined for eye related problems.
30 cataracts, 5 pterygiums and 2 PCO were diagnosed during the camp.
Dr Sarda Ch, consultant ophthalmologist along with supporting staff of SECF examined the patients, the statement said.
148 patients were examined at Maibam Youth Club cum Library premises.
12 cataracts and 13 pterygiums were diagnosed during the camp.
Dr Sachindra Laishram, consultant ophthalmologist along with supporting staff of SECF examined the patients.
All patients detected with various eye related problems will go to SECF, Langol on Nov 17 for corrective surgery, it added.
