Tea Board of India team visits Tamenglong

Tamenglong, October 06 2015:
A team of Tea Board of India led by Deputy Director Regional Offices, R Kujar on Tuesday visited Tamenglong district headquarters to inspect tea plantation in Tamenglong Khunjao area.
Over 200 families were found practicing tea plantation in land measuring about 200 acre in the area.
However, the families were not in a condition to get the full benefit of the plantation due to lack of proper guidance and facilities.
It may be noted that the Ministry of Medium and Small Enterprises (GOI) has already approved in principle to install a Common facility Centre (CFC) in Tamenglong.
The centre will help in promoting the tea and orange production in Tamenglong.
The Tea Board of India has been requested to give suggestions on finding out better ways to tap the potential available in the district.
According to a source, a "Incubation Centre" would be opened in the office premises of Directorate of Industries and Commerce (DIC), Tamenglong in the current month.
The Incubation Centre will provide training to the entrepreneurs in the feild of medicinal plantation, tissue culture, mushroom plantation, lemon and orange plantation.
