The Kangla Universal Foundation(KUF) has notified that a two month free computer class jointly organized by Koubru Educational Foundation (KEF), KUF and Phayeng Area Scheduled Caste Students Union (PASCSU), sponsored by Sur & Sons Foundation Imphal started yesterday at Common Service Centre office, Phayeng Angom Gojendro Singh Pradhan Phayeng Gram Panchayat, Ningthoujam Toyai, Chakpa Khullakpa, Phayeng and Angom Tomalei Devi president Phayeng Apunba Nupi Lup were the chief guest, functional president and guest of honour, respectively.
More than 80 people are participating in this month's computer class, added the statement.
Managing Director Sur & Sons Foundation (SSF) Ningthoukhongjam Anand Singh said that computer usage should be a basic skill, which is why he sponsored this training for free in rural areas and will continue to do so in other parts of the State.
The functional president remarked that the without basic computer skills, one's education is not complete.
The guest of honor added that women have suffered at workplaces such as banks and offices without computer knowledge and this training event serves as a "golden opportunity" to uplift women, said the statement.
