Training on community leaders held

Naga Women's Union (NWU) conducted a training of community leaders on the 'Rights and Laws Related to Women' for the tribe units from October 25 to 27 at DSSS, Mantripukhri, here.
During the programme, the women leaders were made aware of the Rights and Laws Related to women by various resource persons.
.ANoutuneshwari Devi, Chief Judicial Magistrate and Secretary, District Legal Services authority, Imphal East delivered lecture on the theme "Crime against Women and Its Legal Remedies", while Mr.Daniel Ramsan, Senior Advocate Manipur High Court, Imphal Spoke on "Civil and Political Rights (Article No.371c) and Village Authority Act and Women in Decision Making" .
During the sessions, Mr..LAdani, President, UNC gave his speech on "Socio-Economic and Political Situations of Nagas in Manipur and Women Participation in Society", and Mr.Gaiduan Kamei, Secretary, UNC gave lecture on "ADC Acts and Women in Decision Making Mechanisms".
Mr.Chingya Luithui, Convener, NPMHR South Sector and Mr..MIbohal Singh, (Manipur Judicial Services) Additional Judge, District and Session Judge, (Fast Track Court), Imphal West talked on "Indigenous Peoples' Rights and Women's" and "Rights of Women with Reference to Tribal Women of Manipur" respectively.
30 women leaders participated in the interaction and discussion.
