'Chin, Zomi will never to come together'

Chin National Front (CNF) is likely to convene the Chin National Conference within second week of November this year at Hakka Township of Chin state in Myammar, according to sources from CNF.
Sources said that that Central Committee for the Conference has been constituted on 19 August, 2013 at Yangon.
The Committee comprises 5 members from Chin National Front, 12 members from Chin National University and 10 members from different Chin National political parties.
The Central Committee has been given the responsibilities of forming the Sub-Committee like Program Committee, Media Committee, etc and resolved to set up according to the requirement, sources added.
In the Conference, Political, Social and Economic issues of Chin will be discussed beside the Peace Agreement signed between the Union Government of Myanmar and Chin National Front, sources said, adding that CNF has been consulting people in different places since signing of the agreement with the Government.
The CNF sources informed that the first Chin National Conference was held on 20th Feb.1948 at Falam township whereas in 1988, the second conference was held under the aegis of Chin National Council at the border town between India
and Myanmar.
The Chin National Conference day has no relation or connection with the so called Zomi National Day, claimed the CNF sources, adding that while preparation for the Chin National Conference is underway, the Zomis under the Zomi Council is convening the Third World Zomi Convention at Lamka in Manipur inviting intellectuals, leaders of Zo descendants from across the globe.
