Preshow reaches out to villagers under 'Seva Hi Sangathan'

Continuing an act of public services amid the lockdown over Covid-19 outbreak, Manipur's former deputy speaker MK Preshow Shimray on June 27 toured Sagolmang area under Chingai assembly constituency and distributed food, medicines and essentials to the local villagers.
The former MLA from Chingai constituency made the tour under the Centre's Seva Hi Sangathan which marks the completion of 7 years of NDA Government under PM Modi.
The initiative aims to ease the hardships of the needy during the current nationwide lockdown.
With an objective of reaching the unreached, Shimray toured around western Tangkhul villages including Hoomi, Kachai, L Phungdhar, Maichon, Tora and Cham-phung, according to a press handout by Media and Communication Office of former deputy speaker and Ex MLA 45 Chingai AC, Nagaram, Imphal.
"At a time when everyone in the world is busy protecting themselves from the risk and dangers of coronavirus, Shimray is continuing to step out and step up his tour of 45-Chingai Kendra distributing rations, medicines, essential face masks, hand sanitisers, oximeters, solar lamps and financial assistance as Part - 3 of his Seva hi Sangathan trip," it said.
Shimray related accounts of the ongoing battle and coordination efforts being put up by Manipur government under the leadership of CM N Biren Singh.
"He lauded the state government for setting up oxygen plants in all districts headquarters and strengthening health care infrastructures, support from the Centre, Health Ministry, various foreign funding agencies, NGOs as helps pour in from different sections of the society supporting the state government's move to overcome the disease," it said.
Shimray also conveyed CM Biren's message and gratitude to the villagers for their support and cooperation to the state government.
Interacting with the villagers and local Covid-19 Task Forces, he assured them of the benefits of Ayushman Bharat, Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang and various flagship programme till the last village under Chingai constituency.
Urging the villagers not to lose heart in these testing times, Shimray assured of redressing the grievances and difficulties of the area with the support of the 45- BJP Chingai Mandal.
Acknowledging the tireless efforts of the front line workers, village councils, media fraternity and all stake holders, he called for collective efforts to continue and appealed to the villagers to stay informed about verified news and authentic information from the state authorities.
Shimray urged the villagers to rededicate, recommit and reprioritise their lives to the Almighty, while noting that God has been gracious to the community even in the midst of the pandemic times.
The statement continued that during the tour, the former legislature also listened to the grievances and requests of the villagers on the issues.
The villagers' woes pertained to rice quota/allocations under PMGKAY and NFSA, transportation issues, state assistance of Rs 200 per head per day to returnees last year during community quarantine period and utilisation of MLA local Area Development Fund (MLADF) approved by Cabinet for providing essential commodities and relief works in Chingai AC to fight Covid pandemic since April 2020.Shimray was accompanied by 45-Chingai Mahila Morcha president Luckmi Horam, 44 Mandal Ukhrul general secretary (Org) Chingriso A Chihui, yuva leaders and party karyakartas.
