JP Nadda stresses better understanding of Indian Constitution

To live freely in a democratic country is the right guaranteed by the Constitution of India but people should know their rights and their corresponding responsibilities, stated BJP national president JP Nadda.
The visiting BJP national president stated this during Constitution Day (Samvidhan Divas) observance organised by BJP Manipur Pradesh at Hotel Classic Grande, Chingmeirong on Friday.
Speaking at the event which began with paying of rich floral tributes to portrait of 'Father of Indian Constitution' BR Ambedkar, JP Nadda recounted that Constitution of India was adopted by the constituent assembly on November 26,1949 and contributions of BR Ambedkar in framing the Constitution for the nation was significant, hence November 26 is a day of highest significance for the nation.
Successive governments since the framing of the Constitution never remembered the day but Prime Minister Narendra Modi started observance of the day as Samvidhan Divas since 2015.JP Nadda said that the present generation should not forget those who took enormous role in framing Constitution of the nation.
Government will come and go but rights guaranteed by the Constitution will remain intact, he said, adding that Constitution not only guarantees rights but also gives responsibility and hence people should understand the rights and their corresponding responsibilities.
Constitution gives fundamental rights to the people while government govern under the directive principle of state policy.
In his address, chief minister N Biren said that it is important to preserve and promote written Constitution of the nation and India is today one of the super power nations of the world due to implementation of policies with transparency and accountability.
He also called for bringing Manipur to the right path of development with strict adherence to freedom, rights and duties enshrined in the Constitution.
He then expressed his sincere appreciation to national leaders for participating in the event.
The event was also attended by BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda, BJP national spokesperson and Manipur in-charge Sambit Patra, BJP Manipur and Nagaland general secretary organisation Abhay Kumar Giri, Manipur election in charge Bhupendra Yadav and co-in charge Ashok Kumar Giri apart from other party leaders.
