Imphal, August 24 2010:
Troops of 33 Assam Rifles, K-Pro and Loktak Development Authority jointly organised a free medical camp at Laphupat Tera and nearby villages in Bishnupur and Thoubal district today.
A press release issued by PIB (DW) stated that the free camp was jointly inaugurated by Commandant of 33 AR, Col Naresh Bharadwaj, Project Director of LDA, T Ibobi and Project Director of PCL, Hyderabad, Chiranjivi.
Speaking on the occasion, Commandant 33 AR expressed that lack of medical infrastructure in the area is a problem which 33 AR is committed to address on a regular basis, it stated.
The initiative taken by the Red Shield Division was supported by the LDA and K-Pro Infra.
The company that has been on the job of removal of Phumdi from the Loktak lake.
Four Medical Officers including one lady doctor of 33 AR were supported by the civilian volunteer doctor attended to the needs of the villagers.
Mecidines worth Rs 40,000 were also distributed to the villagers.
The free mecial was started from 9 and carried on till 4 pm, the press release informed.
