Working Committee (WC) of Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) has refuted news report carried in mass media indicating imminent split within NSCN-R as null and bearing no credibility.
A joint statement issued by NSCN-R president Wangtin Naga, vice president Akato Chophi and ato kilonser P Tikhak regretted that a minor internal issue within the party has been blown out of proportion and exposed in the public domain.
However, due to timely intervention by WC NNPGs convener N Kitovi Zhimomi and other NNPG leaders, the misunderstanding has been resolved amicably and put to rest keeping in mind the interest of the Nagas at large and the inevitable political solution, it added.
The statement continued that henceforth, the three top leaders of NSCN-R will once again work together cohesively with due consultation with each other and will continue to strengthen the NNPGs till the achievement of the final goal.
It has also been observed that some elements with ulterior motives have been instigating the collective leaders for vested interest, such elements are warned to immediately desist from further nefarious and divisive activities, the statement cautioned.
