AMUCO distributes rice to poor families

Imphal, September 19 2021:
In continuation of its initiative to provide relief to the people of the state facing extreme hardships in wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, AMUCO in collaboration with numerous local clubs and organisations provided rice to several families living under poverty.
A press release issued by AMUCO general secretary MM Thambou informed that the rice were provided to around 55 families of Porompat Thawanthaba Leikai, Porompat Pangal Mamang Leikai and Porompat Pangal Maning Leikai under Imphal East district on Sunday.
The distribution was held with volunteers of United Meitei Pangal Organisation (UMPO) and Star Sporting Club, Porompat.
The release also informed that AMUCO under the relief initiative has provided rice to around 9,000 families of the state facing severe economic challenges in collaboration with several clubs and organisations and the target of AMUCO is to cover 10,000 families.
AMUCO also appealed to the kind hearted public of the state to render aid and assistance to families facing difficulties in the wake of the pandemic due to unavailability of jobs and other livelihood avenues.
