JD-U to support single largest party after 2020 polls

Lok Sabha MP and Janata Dai-United (JDU) national general secretary Ramprit Mandal has said that his party would join formation of the new government after the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election to be held in 2022 by supporting the single largest party.
Addressing the gathering during the opening of JDU Kshetrigao Mandal office at Porompat Thawanthaba Leikai on Friday, Ramprit Mandal said that JDU is considering fielding its own candidates in all 60 assembly constituencies of Manipur in the 2022 election but the party gives more emphasis on quality than quantity.
If there are prospective candidates, then party will not hesitate in offering ticket as the party is not interested in fielding candidate for namesake only, he affirmed.
Meanwhile, JDU Kshetrigao Mandal president Nongthombam Chandra declared that Wahengbam Rojit (Bullet) will be the party's candidate from Kshetrigao AC in the 2022 election and there is high hope of Rojit emerging successful in the election.
The event was also attended by Wahengbam Rojit (Bullet) and JDU intending candidates from Kakching AC Naorem Nabachandra and workers of party in Kshetrigao AC .
